  OpenMarket Expands Global Two-Way SMS Reach, Adds Google Voice Support

OpenMarket is excited to announce the expansion of its global two-way SMS connectivity into 15 countries in Europe and Asia-Pacific (including China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam). By extending our reach into Asia-Pacific with local short and long codes, we are adding nearly two billion additional subscribers in one of the largest mobile regions of the world. The expansion in global reach is driven by an increasing enterprise demand from enterprises that want to leverage SMS to optimize their business operations and enhance relationships with their customers and employees globally.

The support for Google Voice enables enterprises to reach more users by directly communicating with them via text message notifications like product announcements, promotions, and coupons. Companies using OpenMarket's robust Mobile Engagement Platform can now leverage its capabilities to reach a potential market of four million Google Voice subscribers.

Today, OpenMarket services over 400 enterprises globally, including four of the top 10 most respected global brands, supporting mobile messaging use cases like customer service appointment reminders, emergency notifications, company announcements and secure PIN authentication.

  OpenMarket Adds US Long Code Mobile Messaging Capabilities

OpenMarket has announced availability of US long code mobile messaging capabilities for operational use cases such as customer service inquiries, appointment confirmations, chat enabling applications, and two-factor authentication.

The demand for long code SMS functionality is increasing due to better scaling of costs, faster program provisioning and more flexible usage. Please note that US long codes are limited to one transaction per second, they do not support delivery receipts, their programs are not officially registered with the mobile operators, and they are only allowed for non-marketing use cases.

To help you manage your US long codes, OpenMarket offers management solutions including originator decisioning and conversation tracking. You can also create customized solutions such as user consent management via the OpenMarket Mobile Engagement Platform and professional services.
